Our hostess for AUGUST BUNCO was GINNY. We had one sub, LAURA J, and one ghost. Even BROOKE, who's been MIA since January, played. The night started off with a selection of delicious PIZZA from Carrabba's plus salad, LANDSHARK beer and wine. There was enough wine that we could have each had our very own bottle. We were having so much fun that we ended up playing only ONE ROUND. Afterwards we enjoyed KEY LIME Pie.

JULIE won MOST BUNCOS and took home $20 plus a bottle of wine. LAURA and STEPHANIE rolled off for 2ND MOST WINS. LAURA J was left with EVIL GUY and received a set of fun FLIP FLOP wine charms and napkins to match. SEPTEMBER BUNCO will be hosted by DARLENE.

July 2011

JULY BUNCO was at TRICIA'S. We needed three subs tonite -- in addition to our two regulars, we needed one for BROOKE. Our subs for the night were CARLENE, ANITA and BRIAN.

BRIAN told us about all the fantastic places to eat at near Washington Avenue... Beavers, BLOCK 7 WINE COMPANY (grilled cheese with apples!), BRC American Gastropub, Branch Water Tavern, Shade (in the Heights), Darma Cafe (Houston Avenue), IBIZA (on Louisiana), Benjy's on Washington (family style dinner on Sundays), Glass Wall, THE GROVE ($ but worth it), Hugo's (Brunch), Indika (on Westheimer, in Montrose), Vietnam Restaurant (19th Street), TQLA, Dos Amigos (a hole in the wall but awesome breakfast), RAJA'S ITALIAN MARKET (awesome lunch) and Chatters (Old Star Pizza on Washington).

JUNE BUNCO was at JULIE's house. We enjoyed HAM, rolls, potato salad, BEAN SALAD, GOODE CO. CHOCOLATE PIE, and of course plenty of WINE.

MARLENE was our hostess for MAY BUNCO. The Best Bunco Group Ever didn't play since February so we were all ready to roll! We enjoyed DUMPLINGS for appetizers and SHRIMP PAD THAI with broccoli slaw and fruit salad for the main course. We drank lots of WINE, too ~ Menage a Trois California Red, Black Box, Llano sweet red.

FEBRUARY is the month of LOVE and what better way to celebrate than to have COUPLE'S BUNCO! Our gracious hostess for the evening was MARY who arranged a fabulous dinner from CARINO'S with lots of yummy appetizers and beverages. There were 16 players including husbands/guests and everybody came ready to play LCR (Left Center Right) instead of roll for BUNCOS.

The winners for the night were:

The prize for LAST BUNCO of the night was a pretty basket filled with MOVIE TICKETS and other goodies.

January 2011

JANUARY BUNCO was held at BROOKE's house and the theme for the night was Texas A&M Aggies! We enjoyed a delicious dinner of PORK LOIN, mashed potatoes with goat cheese, soup and RUM CAKE! We had three subs ~ TERRI, HOLLY and LAURA.

STEPHANIE, LAURA, GINNY and MICHELE rolled off for MOST BUNCOS with LAURA ultimately taking home the top prize. MARY beat out MARLENE in the roll off for MOST LOSSES of the night. DARLENE's prize for the LAST BUNCO was CASH. It was decided that FEBRUARY BUNCO we will play LCR instead of BUNCO. It's also Couple's Bunco so the husbands are invited.
