april bunco

april bunco was at STEPHANIE C's house. she made a delicious, authentic KOREAN meal for us. everyone enjoyed the MISO SOUP and tasty dumplings with sesame dipping sauces along with big bowls of NOODLES, pork, fried egg, spinach, carrots and spicy sauces while using CHOP STICKS and sitting at low tables. NOT YO MAMA'S banana pudding was for dessert — yum!

march bunco

the BEST BUNCO GROUP EVER met at BUNCO-BUSTIN' BROOKE's for MARCH BUNCO. all twelve girls came decked out in their best WESTERN WEAR. for supper we enjoyed some mighty tasty barbecue with all the fixin's, green bean casserole and a potato dish plus freshmints which included wine and good ol' beer. we had APPLE PIE with ice cream for dessert.

SMACK N' ROLL SHERRY and HEE-HAW STEPH C had a heap of wins at the HEAD TABLE until they were BUCKED OFF by GIDDY-UP GINNY and darlin' darlene. SIDE-WINDIN' WILMA won most buncos and LASSO LAURA had the most losses. a hog-killin' good time was had by all including JINGLE-JANGLE JULIE, good ol' mar-e and LONE-STAR LIZ. we had a TOWN HALL meetin' to discuss a new PROPOSITION that would allow us to re-roll whenever the three dice rolled equaled whatever we were rollin' for in that particular round. we decided to see how it goes next month when we gather at steph c's.

february bunco recipe: chicken spaghetti

MIX TOGETHER:
1-1/2 cups thin spaghetti, cooked
2 cups cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken)
1/4 cup pimento (optional)
1 small green pepper, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup chicken broth
1-1/2 cups grated cheese (monterey jack)
salt and pepper

TOPPING:
mix together 1 cup bread crumbs, garlic powder (to taste), and 3+ tsp melted butter

DIRECTIONS:
preheat oven to 325 degrees. mix everything up together and cover with bread crumb topping. cover with foil and bake for about 30-minutes and then remove foil for the remaining 15-minutes being careful not to let the top burn.

february bunco

february means LOVE but it also means COUPLES BUNCO! this year we played at laura's house — she and DEREK did a great job hosting. it was a fun night having the handsome husbands in attendance. we missed STEPH C and PETER but we had TRICIA and DENNIS there to take their places. we enjoyed CHICKEN SPAGHETTI, two giant salads, GARLIC bread, cheese and crackers, FRUIT, veggies and three DESSERTS — mmm! and we all came wearing our cute VALENTINE outfits. :)

there was a roll-off for 2nd most buncos that included LIZ, michele, ginny, LAURA, sherry and MARK S (michele's hubby) who all rolled THREE BUNCOS — and GINNY came out on top. darlene and michele rolled off for 3rd most wins with DARLENE taking home the prize. and the prize for LAST BUNCO was a mardi gras mask, some wine, a BEIGNET mix, a hurricane cocktail mix, PRALINE fudge, a POMEGRANATE candle and some colorful MARDI GRAS BEADS!

january bunco

JANUARY BUNCO was at SHERRY's house. we ate SPINACH SALAD, VENISON/GOOSE/SHRIMP GUMBO, and amish FRIENDSHIP bread ~ it was all DELISH! no liz, steph c, or julie so we had THREE SUBS ~ marlene, debra and kathy. we listened to JOHN MAYER... we drank lots of water... we watched GEORGIE do tricks... we talked about the two hour lines at RANDALLS store at jones and west roads ~ they were closing and are having a 50% off sale. and somewhere in there we managed to roll some DICE. here's a quick run down of the WINNERS... like i always say, SUBS always win... :)

december bunco

THE BEST BUNCO GROUP EVER met last wednesday at STEPHANIE S' home. it was CHRISTMAS BUNCO and all twelve BUNCO BABES were present -- no subs! STEPHANIE S made a lovely dinner which included ham, SWEET POTATOES with onions and apples, risotto and baked tomatoes -- yum!!! we had CHEESECAKE for dessert and drank lots of wine too. we had so much fun mingling, we didn't even play -- except for one big ROLL-OFF to see who would take home the prize. all twelve of us started out rolling for the highest number with GINNY, STEPHANIE C and SHERRY tying with 6's which meant another roll-off. SHERRY came out on top, rolling another 6, and got some SASSY GLOVES and a box of pretty ornaments. we decided to use the money in the pot to purchase flowers and a WINDCHIME for the funeral of michael rice, the 16-year-old son of one of our neighbors who moved away a few years ago.

it was another long bunco night -- i think it was close to 11pm when i finally got home. what a great group of BUNCO BABES. i feel so lucky to be one of them. merry christmas everybody!

november bunco

the BEST BUNCO GROUP EVER played at MICHELE's house tonite. we feasted on brisket, coleslaw, potato salad, beans and marshmallow salad. we drank WINE and beer. and we also rolled some dice. CASSIE won most buncos with FIVE (subs always win). she won the roll-off with MICHELE who ended up with MOST WINS. 2nd most wins went to GINNY. i had the most losses. THIRTEEN. and for the record, we only play 18 rounds. JULIE got LAST BUNCO of the night and scored a fancy new purse, a pretty candle and a $5 SUBWAY gift card.
