welcome to the official web site of the best bunco group ever!

13 December 2008

twas the night of our bunco...

twas the night of our bunco, and all through MARY'S house
not one woman was quiet -- we were all getting soused!
the treat bowls were placed on the tables with care
in hopes that the ladies would all find them there.

the players were ready -- we had all been fed
and visions of winnings danced in our heads.
with BROOKE in her hat, and WILMA in green,
we were all drinking wine and making a scene!

away to the kitchen STEPH S flew like a flash!
she was ready to play and take home some cash.
with our plates held high we ate from them quick.
i knew before half-time, we all would be quite sick!

more rapid than eagles STEPH C started the game
as she hollered and shouted and called us by name:
"come now, GINNY! BROOKE! LAURA! MICHELE! MARY!
JULIE! LIZ! DARLENE! STEPH S! WILMA! and SHERRY!

ladies, please find your seat and sit yourself down,
the game will begin when you hear the bell sound!"
so over to the tables, the ladies they flew
with score cards in hand along with beverages too!

and then in a twinkling, we sat on our buns,
from the head table we heard someone yell: ones!
all of a sudden LAURA stood up and screamed,
"i’m winning! i’m winning! is this a dream?"

to our surprise, those dice dots did fall...
six, six and six -- and SHERRY cried out to all:
"the grinch! the grinch! throw him to me!"
MICHELE tossed it to her with gladness and glee.

LIZ and STEPH C totaled up everyone’s games.
only one roll-off there'd be and that's a darn shame!
we were all so excited, it was getting quite late,
but kept going and going until we couldn't think straight.

when it came time for the gift game of exchanging
you could hardly hear what JULIE was saying.
GINNY passed to the left and then to the right,
we saw many presents; they were all quite a sight!

in no time at all, the night was all said and done,
the games were over and so was our fun.
fond memories of games past came to mind as we packed,
fun times and good friendships from many years back.

we ran out to our cars, to our friends gave a whistle,
and away we each drove as fast as a missile.
but we heard DARLENE say, as she drove into the night,
keep your eyes open ladies; i’ll be updating the site!"
